Weekly Store Spotlight: Bookstore 1 Sarasota in Sarasota, Florida

June 1, 2011

Today, book stores are so much more than just a place to pick up the latest beach novel.  Book stores have become a central hub of activity for readers, poets, and word enthusiasts of all kinds. Where else can you get your favorite book signed by an award-winning author, attend a poetry reading, and participate in a writer’s workshop — all under one roof?

One of our favorite books stores is the Bookstore 1 Sarasota in beautiful, sunny Sarasota, Florida. So much more than just bestsellers and novels, Sarasota 1 Bookstore has a wide variety of classics, an expanded selection of books to motivate young readers, plus a great assortment of games like the You’ve been Sentenced! word game and puzzles of all kinds.

Best yet, the  Bookstore 1 Sarasota even offers meeting space for book and writers’ groups and hosts a tremendous calendar of events. For example, coming up soon, Tracy Barrett will read from her work and sign copies. She is the author of The 100-Year-Old Secret, which is Sarasota Public Schools’ pick this year for all middle-schoolers. The book has just been nominated for a Sunshine State Young Readers Award.  You can see Ms. Barrett at 10:00 on Saturday morning, June 4.

But, please, don’t just take our word for it. Visit for yourself and see all that the Sarasota 1 Bookstore has to offer!
