You’ve been Sentenced! was recently named an Editor’s Pick by My Shopping Connection. Below is a brief excerpt of the review, visit My Shopping Connection to read the article  in its entirety.
“Games are a wonderful way to spend time with family and friends around the holidays, and McNeill Designs for Brighter Minds‘ wordy game, You’ve been Sentenced! is a great gift choice for the whole family

Whether you’re a wannabe wordsmith or simply a fan of critical thinking games, You’ve been Sentenced! is fun for players 8 and up.

The game focuses on crafting grammatically correct and sensible sentences from the word choices dealt out in each hand of playing cards.

A player receives a hand of 10 cards each round and must try to build a sentence with as many words from the cards as possible. Sentences can be accepted or objected to by the other players; if the other players object to a sentence, the player must defend, explain or justify why it makes sense.

Scoring depends on whether the sentence is accepted or not, as well as its complexity. If you get creative, You’ve been Sentenced! can be quite funny to play, as well as a real challenge if you’re in it to win it.

If you’re anything like me and scoring doesn’t matter much, simply focusing on creating the most ridiculous (but still valid) sentences possible is a real blast.

You’ve been Sentenced! comes with 540 cards (more than 2,500 words), which allows for plenty of game play, but what’s even more interesting is that McNeill has four different add-on decks specific to certain genres. For example, sports fans will like the Sports Highlights deck, while foodies will enjoy the Gourmet Cuisine deck.

Overall, You’ve been Sentenced! is a great way to spend family game night and an even better way to brush up on your verbal skills.”
