Creative Child Magazine names McNeill Designs’ Reader’s Digest Word Power Challenge game Educational Game of the Year

June 11, 2009

Creative Child Magazine recently named McNeill Designs’ original game Reader’s Digest Word Power Challenge the 2008 Educational Game of the Year. Creative Child Magazine is a bi-monthly publication that provides parents with the latest information on how to nurture their child’s creativity.

As the 2008 Educational Game of the Year the Reader’s Digest Word Power Challenge was one of hundreds of products reviewed by Creative Child Magazine’s play testers.

McNeill Designs‘ winning entry was released less than one year ago and is the latest addition to the firm’s successful  roster of games. The Reader’s Digest Word Power Challenge game sharpens players’ vocabularies, boost their test-taking skills, and fosters a love of language in a fun, player-friendly format. By utilizing facts from four categories: word origin, fill-in-the-blank, definition, and synonyms, students gain an intensive knowledge of each word.

This motivating game was developed by McNeill Designs in conjunction with the Reader’s Digest company. The game is based on the “Word Power” feature in Reader’s Digest magazine, which has been enriching America’s vocabulary for over 60 years.
