Supporting our US troops in the Middle East; McNeill Designs sends copies of the You’ve been Sentenced! word game

June 8, 2009

The game development firm McNeill Designs recently announced the donation of three cases of their new game “You’ve been Sentenced!” to the US soldiers stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. The donation was made in conjunction with the non-profit organization Operation AC, also based in Delaware.

“We are proud to assist Operation AC’s efforts to support our fighting men and women,” says McNeill Design’s Chairman Donald McNeill. “We hope our soldiers will be able to occasionally enjoy a few moments of leisure and fun with our game, even while stationed so far from home.”

“Operation AC was founded in 2001 when military mother Frankie Mayo’s son and daughter-in-law were both stationed in Iraq. Upon learning of the oppressive heat they endured, she sent them air conditioners. Realizing that this was a pervasive need, she began to solicit donations for others and Operation AC was born.

Since then, Operation AC has expanded to include donations of a myriad of other items requested by US soldiers. “We have a lot of soldiers and marines who ask board games, video games, CDs, DVDs, horse shoe sets, just about anything you can think of,” says Mayo. “What we do here is find out what they need and get it to them. I’ve sent everything from tools, toilet seats, building supplies, medical supplies, and socks, whatever they can’t get. We find a way to get it and get it to them.”

To obtain a list of frequently requested items, visit the Operation AC website at www.operationac.com or contact Kristine DeBoda at 302-836-1008 kristine@operationac.com.
